How do I calculate MPG?▾
Divide the distance driven (in miles) by the gallons of fuel used. For example, 300 miles ÷ 12 gallons = 25 MPG.
What is L/100km?▾
Liters per 100 kilometers is the standard fuel-economy metric in most of the world outside the US. Lower is better — it tells you how much fuel you'd burn to drive 100 km.
Is this calculator for US or UK gallons?▾
This calculator uses US gallons (3.78541 liters). A UK (imperial) gallon is larger at 4.54609 liters, so UK MPG figures run ~20% higher than US MPG for the same car.
